So grab your favorite beverage, and sit back as I take you on the journey of life as a Chief.

Hello, Hello everyone. This is your host for a Totally Warranted Podcast Chief Daniel. I’m super excited to be here with you today so let’s jump right in. If you stumbled across this podcast and decided to take a listen, you’re here for one of two reasons. You are a Army Warrant Officer and you’re looking for a place to relax for a bit on your trip to work, in which case. Hey WOMIE. You’re in the right place. Orrr you are looking to become an Army Warrant Officer. In which case you are ALSO in the right place! In this podcast I plan to take you on a journey from packet to promotions. We will get you through the process of putting in your packet and work our way into retirement planning.

So in this episode, Episode 1. I’m going to tell you a little about me, so you understand who I am and most importantly why I’m qualified to take you on this journey. Shall we begin? Ok so my name is Chief Daniel, or Chief D. I am a 420A, Human Resources Technician and I’m currently at the great place (if you know you know).

I started the journey in 2019 with my packet and crossed over in 2020 and have spent the time following trying to encourage everyone I could to run across this line. Why, you might ask. Because the decision to become a Warrant Officer was one of the best ones I’ve made in my life. And one I should have made sooner.

To give you a little more background I’ll take you on a 45 second journey of my career. I joined as a PV2, was stationed in Korea, Met the WO that proceeded to change the course of my life. I got married, had a baby, PCS’d, got divorced, had another baby (I’m a CLP now), deployed, PCS’d deployed again (now I’m a SSG). Finally got to ALC and SLC (Same calendar year), Got selected for Drill Sergeant School, was stationed down the Road from The United States Army Drill Sergeant Academy (she said it), Made the SFC List, PCS’d to New York (City…), Had a Baby and submitted my Warrant Officer Packet. #Qualified-Selected.

So now that you know more about my overall career lets take you through the Warrant Officer Journey. I got selected, Pre-Covid but my class date happened to be 2 days after the Army Stop-Move. I fought tooth and nail to still make it to my class since it was still happening. It took a lot but I made it as assigned. Going through WOCS during a full scale COVID lockdown was interesting to say the least. I’m sure 1st WOCC still knows us as the COVID class. If I learned anything in this training it was to remain flexible but that experience is a story for another day.

I graduated WOCS and went on to WOBC with alot of my classmates from WOCS. I like to think I formed some amazing bonds in these schools. Finishing up WOBC as the Distinguished Honor Grad was mind blowing, but the journey doesn’t really start until school is over… No, wait, that's just the ADSO.

Once school was over, the real test started. And like the freshman class of Saved by the Bell, my team of WO1s went forth into the army inventory to do our worst. At this point, most of us have survived and live to tell the tale.

You’re probably wondering why I’m sitting here talking to you. The truth is, helping others to reach their potential has always been a passion of mine. When I was selected for Drill Sergeant, I also had the opportunity to be a recruiter which I declined. I told my assignment manager at the time that I would teach anyone who wanted to learn, anything I could. But I refused to sell anyone on anything in the Army. The same remains true today. If you want to become a Warrant Officer and need some help on how, this is for you! If you want to be sold on the idea of becoming a warrant officer, turn this off right now. There will be no selling done here.

Being a Warrant Officer is a privilege and if you need to be sold on it, I can’t say that I’d personally like you next to me in the team photo.

So now that you know who I am, You should know you can expect honesty, understanding, and a dose of humor from our interactions. I will be here every step of the journey, don’t hesitate to reach out with any topic ides if I haven’t covered what you need. If you need to contact me you can do so at ChiefD@totallywarranted.com or on Facebook or IG @totallywarranted. In Episode two I’m going to take you through some resources you need to determine if you’re eligible to become a warrant officer, as well as where to find all the items for your packet.
